Thrive at Work is a Neuro-Affirming Workplace Framework that helps organisations build understanding, reduce barriers and create environments where people can thrive.

Drawing on neurodiversity, nervous system awareness and practical workplace experience, the framework helps teams and managers look beneath behaviour to better understand the factors influencing wellbeing, capacity and performance.

Rather than focusing solely on individual challenges, Thrive at Work explores the relationship between people, workplace systems and organisational culture. By building shared understanding and reducing unnecessary barriers, organisations can create fairer, more sustainable ways of working.

The framework is intentionally staged, helping organisations build awareness, support managers and provide practical support where it is needed most.

Neuro-Affirming Team Awareness Training

Building shared understanding without requiring personal disclosure.

This stage is designed for teams and focuses on creating a shared understanding of neurodiversity, capacity and workplace experiences.

Using practical activities, discussion and fictional case studies, participants explore how workplace systems, expectations and environments can create hidden barriers, often without anyone intending them to.

Rather than focusing on diagnoses alone, the training helps teams understand the factors that influence wellbeing, performance and inclusion at work.

What this stage supports

Understanding neurodiversity through a strengths-based, difference-not-deficit lens

• Looking beneath behaviour to understand the factors influencing capacity, wellbeing and performance

• Developing a shared language around capacity, access and support

• Increasing confidence in inclusive ways of working

• Building understanding without requiring disclosure from individuals

Where organisations often go next

The themes, questions and patterns identified during this stage can be used to inform the Neuro-Affirming Management Training.

This helps managers translate awareness into action, exploring what sits within their influence and how workplace systems, communication and decision-making can better support inclusion.

Neuro-Affirming Management Training

Turning awareness into practical action.

This stage is designed for managers and leaders and builds directly on the Team Awareness Training, helping organisations move from understanding to implementation.

Managers explore how workplace systems, communication, expectations and decision-making can either reduce or unintentionally create barriers for neurodivergent employees. The focus shifts from awareness and empathy to practical leadership, consistency and accountability.

Using workplace scenarios, discussion and reflective activities, managers are supported to understand what sits within their role, what requires escalation and how to create sustainable ways of working that support both wellbeing and performance.

What this stage supports

• Making fair and consistent decisions

• Understanding managerial capacity and responsibility

• Recognising when challenges are systemic rather than individual

• Building confidence in workplace adjustments and support conversations

• Creating inclusive ways of working that reduce unnecessary barriers

• Using shared language and frameworks to improve communication and consistency

• Understanding how capacity fluctuates and what support may be helpful

Format

• Typically delivered as a 2–4 hour live online session

• Typically up to 15 participants

This stage builds directly on the insights and themes identified during the Team Awareness Training and is designed as an optional next step for organisations wishing to explore systemic change.

By using the collective learning from Stage One, managers can identify opportunities to reduce barriers, improve communication and create more inclusive ways of working across the wider team.

1:1 Neuro-Affirming  Coaching

This stage provides individual support for employees, particularly neurodivergent staff, and sits alongside organisational training rather than replacing it.

Coaching is practical, strengths-based and focused on helping individuals better understand themselves, their capacity and the factors influencing their experience at work.

Rather than focusing solely on performance, this work explores the relationship between workload, wellbeing, communication, workplace demands and sustainable ways of working.

Together we identify what is creating friction, what is working well and what support or adjustments may be helpful.

Coaching commonly focuses on:

• Executive functioning and workload management

• Adjustment planning and implementation

• Confidence, communication and self-advocacy

• Capacity, wellbeing and sustainable performance

• Reducing overwhelm and building practical strategies for work

Where appropriate, coaching may include use of The Capacity Map™, a neuro-affirming psychoeducation framework that supports structured conversations around capacity, adjustments and sustainable ways of working.

Every organisation is different. Together we can explore what feels most relevant for your people, your challenges and your goals.
